  4. When and how to recommend a higher level of care for teens

Learning Objectives

  • Participants will be able to explain at least two core principles of contingency management in adolescent substance use treatment.
  • Participants will be able to design a contingency management plan for an adolescent.
  • Participants will be able to describe the role of parents in adolescent contingency management.

Ned Presnall, MSW, LCSW

Ned Presnall is a licensed clinical social worker, researcher, and educator. Ned has taught courses on addiction treatment for the Brown School of Social Work, Missouri Institute for Mental Health, MO Department of Mental Health, MO Primary Care Association, Institute for Research, Training, and Education in Addictions, and the American Society of Addiction Medicine.

Ned and his colleagues at Plan Your Recovery in St. Louis provide comprehensive care to persons with addiction and other mental health problems, including individual, couples, and family therapy and psychiatry.
